About Jovita Wysocka Ahava

Jovita Wysocka Ahava is a Florida attorney with 25 years of legal experience focusing on estate planning, wills, trusts, estate and trust administration, and probate. Based in the Tampa Bay area, with offices in Clearwater and St. Petersburg, she represents clients throughout Florida.

Jovita is fluent in Polish and has the honor of representing many Polish-speaking clients throughout Florida. She is committed to helping individuals and families protect their assets, plan for the future, and navigate important legal matters with clarity and confidence.

A native of Boston, Massachusetts, Jovita developed her legal skills in Massachusetts and at large litigation firms in New York City and the Washington, D.C. area. She has practiced law in Florida for more than 20 years, including in the areas of estate planning, probate, and personal injury.

Jovita is passionate about helping clients create thoughtful estate plans that protect their assets and provide a lasting legacy for future generations. She takes the time to understand each client’s individual circumstances, needs, and goals and guides clients through the planning process in straightforward terms.

Her approach is grounded in empathy, attention to detail, and a commitment to providing clients with peace of mind. Jovita is fluent in Polish and has the privilege of representing Polish-speaking clients throughout Florida. She is also active in Polish communities on Florida’s West Coast and serves as Vice President of the Polish American Society of St. Petersburg.

Her ability to communicate in both English and Polish allows her to provide personal and accessible legal guidance to families who prefer to communicate in Polish.

Jovita has been active in the legal and professional communities throughout her career.

She is a member of The Florida Bar, the Massachusetts Bar, the New York Bar, and the St. Petersburg Bar Association, where she has served on the Executive Committee.

Jovita is also a member of the Florida Association for Women Lawyers, Pinellas Chapter, and has served as its Public Relations Director.

She has served as Vice President, board member, and volunteer with Community Law Program in St. Petersburg, an organization that provides free legal services to individuals who cannot otherwise afford legal representation.

Jovita is the Founder and Executive Director of Florida Lawyers for the Arts, Inc., and has remained active in the local arts community as a pro bono attorney.

She also served as Secretary of the board of the Warehouse Arts District Association.

Community Involvement

Jovita believes strongly in giving back to the communities she serves.

In addition to her legal and professional organizations, she has been involved with the Warehouse Arts District Association, the Polish Center of Pope John Paul II, the American Institute of Polish Culture, and Polonia.

As a former ballet dancer in Boston, Jovita maintains a particular connection to the arts community in St. Petersburg and has provided pro bono legal assistance to local arts organizations.

She has also contributed articles on personal injury law and other legal topics to various legal publications and has taught law classes at St. Petersburg College.

Jovita has served as a guest speaker on legal topics for legal, paralegal, arts, and civic organizations.
